Five Years Later...(THANK YOU!!!)

My dearest friends, family and musical co-conspirators...

On Monday February 26th 2008 - 5 years ago today - I was told by my oncologist that I was officially in remission from cancer, that the scan I'd taken the previous Friday was free and clear of any and all markers.

Needless to say this is a very special day for me and my family, and together we celebrate with two new projects - both releasing today - that are very close to our hearts:

  • A brand new version of DANDELION's song "TURNING TOWARD THE SUN" is included on a shared single with Jim Boggia called "SONGS FOR AIDAN VOL 1".  In late 2012, I was introduced to Lance Knox, who's son Aidan was undergoing treatment for Ewing Sarcoma - a rare form of bone marrow cancer.  Lance and his wife Jamie started a YouTube page for musicians to dedicate songs to the family while Aidan was in treatment.  Through this invitation I've been incredibly honored to get to know the Knox's these past few months, keeping tabs on Aidan's progress and comparing emotional scars and stories with Lance along the way.  They're amazing amazing people, fighters and inspirations.  All sales from this single will benefit the Oncology Child Life Department of Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, where Aidan is still undergoing treatment and doing GREAT!!  This release was also timed to coincide with his 10th birthday on Feb 24th (HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!).

Between these two releases I'd like to pay tribute to those we've lost too soon to this disease, as well as send my utmost love & support to those living with or fighting cancer today.  You can read more about the stories behind these two releases in an exclusive interview with my friends at HERE.

Lastly, for those of you in the Los Angeles area this weekend I'm helping organize a benefit concert for a compilation project called SONGS FOR SANDY HOOK which I helped curate with my dear friend Manda Mosher earlier this year.  The compliation series features 40 contributions from indie artists around the world, all to benefit Danbury Hospital in Newton, CT.

The show will take place on Saturday March 2nd at The Talking Stick in Venice, CA.  Details can be found at our Facebook Event page, and the compilations can be ordered at

To you all - I want to say THANK YOU, from the bottom of my heart for making my life so rich and beautiful.  Here's to 5 more and many many after that...

More music and news to come soon.  In the mean time - please treasure those you hold dear and thank you all SO much again for your love and light.

Until I see you again...

MUCH love,
