This is a prelude to what I hope are many contributions to the Golden State Music channel from my humble living room. This first entry was particularly impulsive, recorded one afternoon while home sick with my youngest son, Harper.
About a year ago to the day now, I was getting ready to enter my final round of chemotherapy and Warren Zevon's final album THE WIND was in regular rotation - I couldn't help but be fondly attached to it's grace and strength. This song was (likely) written during the throws of his own illness (one that sadly led to his early death) - I can't speak for his own inspirations, but my ears heart always felt it as sung from his wife or son's perspective, with a resolve that things may or not get better in our darkest hours.
A divinely simple song, with a powerful punch - I don't nearly do it justice enough, but thought I would use my own voice non-the-less to share it's elegant beauty with you.
